Writing with ease January 11, 2010 T. James (Linwood, North Carolina) 13 out of 15 found this review helpful
Do not buy the hardcover book that goes with the workbook. Both books say exactly the same thing. YOu only need the workbook.
Love this curriculum March 30, 2010 L. Hanson 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I have used both Level 1 and Level 2 and am now using Level 3. I love Writing with Ease as my son has developed strong skills in summarizing and narration, dictation, writing, spelling, and more. He loves most of the stories as they are well selected according to age. The lessons are short and to the point. We actually do two days of lessons in one day and that works out well.
Perfect December 20, 2009 everlastingstarflower (Harrisburg, Pennsylvania) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
This writing curriculum has been perfect for our family. There are two sentences with different levels of difficulty on each page. My 6 yr. old son copies the shorter, easier sentence while my 8 yr. old daughter copies the longer, more difficult one. This helps us to be able to condense our school day so that instead of teaching two separate writing lessons, I can teach one lesson and have them do the work that is appropriate for their level of writing skill. The kids love the story excerpts that are read every other day and coming up with their own sentences to write.
what a great tool for homeschoolers November 8, 2009 Jamie Segrist 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Susan Bauer does it again! We love her and can't say enough wonderful things about her. These lessons are easy to follow and really help me teach my son how to write. A wonderful tool in our homeschooling curriculum. Follows our history that we do by her which teaches him narration and this just adds to that feature! GREAT GREAT I can't wait to use it for the other kids!
Great Writing Book! May 29, 2010 S. Crawford (Washington State, USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This book has worked well for my 9 year old son, who doesn't like to write at all. It is easy to follow and is organized by week and day, with four days making up one week. The lessons so far consist of dictation, narration, or a combination of both from selections of different books. I like this the best because it has introduced my son to books such as The Story of Dr. Dolittle, Ginger Pye, and Paul Revere and I. The selections the author uses piques the interest of my son, so he wants to read more from these books! Anything that encourages reading is wonderful! The daily lessons don't take very long, sometimes as little as 10 minutes when there is a dictation lesson, but I have seen him progress and I know it's working for us!
